Stop Wildfires Before They Start: Help Livermore Build a Firefighting Base!
The residents of Livermore and the entire Alameda County region are at an elevated risk of wildfire. Despite being in one of the highest fire-risk areas of the state, we lack the necessary resources to respond quickly and efficiently. Families, businesses, and emergency services are all affected by this gap in fire protection, and we’re relying on temporary solutions that are not sustainable for long-term safety. We need 500 signatures before the end of 2024, and we need your help in making sure that our fellow citizens are not put in more danger than they already are in! Protect Our Communities: How WUI can save your lives and others
How many acres do you think have been burnt by wild land fires? Over 1,000,000 acres of land have been destroyed due to fires in wild land areas, also know as interfaces. The Department of Housing and Urban Development , also known as HUD, oversees and maintains these lands. The Wild Land Urban Interface, also known as WUI, is an application where users are able to see the differences between urban-dense areas and these interfaces. Understanding this application, can help you know whose land is at most risk and who is in control of it.

Our team was at the farmer’s market at Emerald Glen on August 1, 2024 . We set up a booth and are grateful for all the people that had donated. We raised about $150 for the cause, and all the donations went straight to the CalFire Association. We will continue our events at every farmer’s market. If you would like to help us with volunteering, please send us an email and we will let you know about our future plans!
